keep the faith

Sometimes it feels that the closer you are to God.... the harder things in life get.
Maybe your friends dislike you
Maybe your home life turns to crap
Maybe those feelings of self doubt and worth are creeping back into your life

Sometimes you feel like everything in the worst is trying to stop you from getting closer to God...
Thats probably because it is. Satan is literally everywhere and he HATES it when you become closer to God and you fall deeper in love with him.
Sometimes bad things just happen... and we wonder why God lets them happen. There are countless times were I have lay in my bed in tears asking why God has left me like this.
Why God has abandoned me

Lets take Daniel. A man in the Bible who lived for God at any cost. One minute he was serving in the court of the king with three friends then then next he was being thrown into a fire for not worshipping a statue which would have probably have sounded as absurd to them then to us now.
They probably wondered why God would put them in such a great position then throw them into a horrible one straight away. (Haven't we all..)
The Bible tells that that not only were they put into a fire for not worshipping a statue... but that the king Nebuchadnezzar has ordered the heat to be 7 times hotter than usual. Even a guard leading them in to the pit was burned alive! Logically they had no chance of survival but God doesn't always play by the rules of the world.
They survived "the fire had not harmed them nor their bodies. Their robes were not scorched and there was no smell of fire on them."
Sometimes people in life attack us. Satan tried to throw fire at us to break us down when we are feeling most godly. But no matter how hot the heat is turned up God is with us through it all. Sometimes we have to go through the fire to be refined!
No weapon formed against me shall remain.

Zech. tells us "the third i will put into the fire, i will refine them like silver and test them like Gold. They will call on my name and i will answer them. I will say "they are my people" and they will say "The Lord is my God."
God will test us and trial us so that we will become stronger in faith.
There is the old Christian saying which ministers and youth leaders and the like say when they are faced with a person having problems "The Lord will never give you anything you can't handle." It may help for a time but it will not stick. We forget instantly when sometime else comes along that we cannot handle.
That phrase is so true though. See it as joy when God gives you difficult things. He has chosen you and thinks you are strong enough to handle it.
He is refining you... he is making you into the man/woman of God that you were born to be!

Refine me Lord through the flame.
All of my life in every season you are still God, i have a reason to sing, i have a reason to worship.
